The growing demand for open access publishing has led Springer to expand its open access program to fully open access books. 

Within the program SpringerOpen the publisher accepts complete monographs, edited volumes, proceedings and SpringerBriefs. Every publication will be peer-reviewed.
Besides the open access online version of each book, Springer also offers tu buy a printed version. All ebooks are automatically included in the Springer eBook Collection at no additional cost.

Authors of the University of Zurich receive a discount of 15% on the publishing fee when publishing a book with SpringerOpen. This is due to the membership agreement of the Main Library and the publisher BioMed Central, which is a part of Springer.
