Harvard University says it can't afford journal publishers' prices

In a memo the Harvard Library warned that it could no longer afford the price hikes by many large journal publishers.

Disproportionaly rising subscription costs charged by academic publishers forced Harvard University to encourage its faculty members to make their research freely available through open access journals and to resign from publications kept behind paywalls.
