The new study from Mikael Laakso et al. shows, how rapidly open access journals grew in the years between 1993 and 2009. This includes the increasing number of OA journals as well as the individual growth of each journal. Especially worth mentioning is the fact, that the amout of peer-reviewed open access articles published in this time period increased much more than the amount of ALL published peer-reviewed articles in the same time frame.
