Open Access Council / Library Commission
The Open Access Council was a committee of the University of Zurich that dealed with general queries about open access at the University of Zurich, that supported the implementation of the strategic goal of open access and worked out suggestions to the attention of the Executive Board of the University. As of 1 August 2013, the council was merged into the Library Commission. Some members of the Open access Council are also members of the Library Commission. In addition, there is one new member in the Commission responsible for Open Access.
The main duties and responsibilities of the Library Commission are:
- Push general and faculty related measures to boost the acceptance of open access and ZORA (Zurich Open Repository and Archive)
- Define topics related to the library strategy
- Adopt the library's E-Library Strategy
