Open Access publishing fund for social sciences and humanities

fund Since 2012 the Main Library of the University of Zurich supports Open Access publications from the humanities and social sciences with a publishing fund. Combined with the current institutional memberships this is a way to support all research areas when publishing with open access.

ok A maximum of CHF 2,000 per author, research group (last author authority), publication and current calendar year
ok Eligible for benefit are authors affiliated with the Faculty of Law,  the Faculty of Arts,  the Faculty of Theology and in certain cases authors affiliated with the Faculty of Economics (criterion: social sciences and humanities)
ok Open access (OA) articles, OA monographs, OA book chapters in OA anthologies, Edited scientific OA works
ok Peer-reviewed
ok Immediate Open Access
ok Compliance with guidelines of the Open Access publishing fund
notok Single Open Access articles in licensed (toll access) journals cannot be supported

 Financing procedure

Application

Once a paper is accepted for publication the author can apply for the fund by using the application form. The date of receipt of the application determines the eligibility in case the fund is exhausted ahead of schedule. You will be informed by us as soon as possible whether or not the publication costs can be covered by the fund. In case of problems with the form, please send us an e-mail.

Invoice compliance with the  Kreditoren-
workflow
(Zentraler Rechnungseingang)

After the confirmation of payment for the Open Access costs by us, the invoice should be issued according to the Kreditorenworkflow (KWF). The authors will be informed about the invoice details via email. Please contact us to get the correct information.

Required documents

In any case, a copy of the published paper is needed. If the final published version of the work shows that the requested criteria (guidelines) have not been met, the Main Library can still decline the payment at this point.

The billing address should be in line with the requirements of the centralized invoice receipt of the UZH (creditor workflow).
